JVC to deliver HD cams
It doesn't look like we’ll have too long to wait before we see a High Definition Video version of JVC’s hard disk based camcorder the Everio. The company has told TD that its long-term strategy for HDV is based around hard disks and not mini DV cassettes, and that the first HDV Everio should reach the UK by the end of next year. A company spokesperson said that hard disks were the obvious platform for HDV for many reasons including ease of editing for consumers through to the relatively simple integration of the HDV standard equipment onto the Everio models. Storage is also a huge factor with a 30 Gigabyte Everio able to store well over two hours of HDV footage.
