Tosh's top-end LCD HD sets
Toshiba is the latest big name maker to unveil its latest range of HDTV friendly LCD TVs. Headline features for the new WLT58 series are a slimline speaker design and, for the first time for Tosh, integrated Freeview digital terrestrial decoders. The series, which features 32 (32 WLT58), 37 (37 WLT58) and 42inch (42 WLT58) models, naturally all offer the HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) that's a must if a set is going to be able to deliver Sky's upcoming HDTV channels.
Picture quality is managed by Toshiba’s Active Vision LCD picture processing that apparently enhances detail, colour, contrast and movement. Other features include a component Video input, 3 Scarts and SRS Wow surround sound Two additional small screen LCD TVs, the 20WLT56 and 27WLT56, will also be available from October 2005 featuring integrated digital tuners, but not HD compatibility.
