Panny adds low-end HD-ready LCDs
Panasonic has announced a couple of new LCD additions to its Viera range. These will be available in the guise of the TX-32LXD52 (£1200) and TX-26LXD52 (£800) and now include, on top of the general HD Ready status and HDMI input, an integrated Freeview Tuner.
If you don’t have a suitably expensive home cinema system to go with your giant LCD screen, or simply can’t be bothered with all those cables, the LXD52 comes with an integrated 20W speaker system. These also sport Panny’s new 3D Colour Management to ensure more vivid and lifelike images. The LXD52 series is available now.

The new 3D colour management system adds the ability for the set to adjust brightness on a per pixel basis.
It seems that the differentiation between the top end Panny LCD and this 'low-end' version is getting smaller. The 500 series does not have this new colour management system but does support the following:
- enhnaced image interference management
- SD/PCMIA card support
- extra picture modes (PIP etc)
- better sound system
Is it worth the extra £500 asking price, probably not. I would go with the 52 series in the current range, unless they are about to update the 500 series that is?
