Sky has called a big press conference for early Monday morning and there's no prizes for guessing what it is demonstrating. Yep, the gathered throng of journalists and analysts are going to be first to get a glimpse of Sky’s HDTV service. There’s also likely to be a confirmed date for the launch – which everyone is guessing is likely to early spring 2006 - and details of how Sky will charge for high definition. Kicking off the launch is Malcolm Baird, the son of John Logie Baird who as every school boys knows not only invented televisions but also made and sold the first TV sets and was first to transmit colour signals (phew). Expect to see the full details here by lunchtime.
