Barely a week seem to go buy without us mentioning SED, the CRT-based alternative to LCD and plasma that was apparently developed by Philips but will be offered by Toshiba and Canon next year. We think it’s a great technology and if it delivers cheaper HD flat screens, that's fine by us. It seems we aren’t the only ones championing it at the moment either. HD Beat reports that Popular Science has awarded the technology with the Best of What’s New 2005 award.
More fools Philips for ditching it so soon.
