Telewest to launch HDTV in December shocker

Telewest_pvr1_1 Bad day for Sky. It appears that it won't be the first to offer HDTV to consumers in the UK. In among its financial results today Telewest dropped the bombshell that it will debut a HDTV service in the UK in December – less than a month away. It says it has the content - from the BBC and others – has the gear – a 160 Gig hard drive video recorder/decoder called TV Drive - and is ready to roll. No firm details on prices yet, but the box, and presumably the HD service, is expected to go for £15 per month. There will be more HD announcements this week from the company.
