Telewest's Teleport goes national
Fresh from debuting its HD service and hard disk based video recorder, cable company Telewest has now completed the roll out of its Teleport video-on-demand service. It has made the facility available to subscribers in the Yorkshire and West London areas which means that it is now working across the UK. Using their existing set-top box and remote control Teleport enables viewers to watch movies, as well as recently screened TV programmes, whenever they fancy them. The company has also added Granada to its list of companies that has content on the service. So viewers will now be able to view Cold Feet, Cracker, Prime Suspect, Darling Buds of May and Rising Damp as well as their BBC faves.
