Like most people’s tellys, the rear end of mine is a tangled mass of cables which I try to avoid for fear of losing my whole arm. With just about everything else turning wireless, it’s about time home entertainment caught up if only to get rid of those unsightly coils. Radiospire has come up with an uncompressed wireless HDMI connection that claims to retain a full wired image quality. It manages a transfer rate of 3Gbps which means that all HD video resolutions including 1080p are transferable. For the moment this is a short range solution (about 15 feet) which is probably not enough to get too creative with your home cinema layout. We’ll have to wait until someone gets a hands-on with it to get a better idea of how well the technology works.
