Projectors seem to have been over looked somewhat in all the recent hype about LCDs and plasma screens. But they do offer the only way to get those truly wall-filling images and without needing a hulking monstrosity of a telly either. Just recently launched here in the UK were InFocus’ Play Big series of DLP chip projectors; particularly of note is the IN76 model which can boast a 720p resolution to complement its (up to) 144” projected image size.
Importantly it includes an HDMI input plus a 3000:1 contrast ratio and it uses Pixelworks DNX video processing technology to enhance the image. It also has a swivel mount for easier angle adjustments. The Play Big IN76 is available now for around £1,700.
