Not long to go before you can purchase your Sky HD kit. The company has announced that the high definition service will go on sale to the general public from Wednesday 12th April, with installations due to begin in May.
Customers will pay £299 for the Sky HD box with a Sky HD subscription of £10 a month in addition to your Sky digital subscription. Initially, standard installation of Sky HD is free for all new or existing Sky digital subscribers taking a Sky HD subscription until 31 May 2006.
The Sky HD box will be equipped with 160GB of personal storage space - that's around 30 hours of HD programmes or 80 hours of standard definition recording time. It will also feature existing Sky+ functionality. Obviously, you'll also need a compatible HDTV to view the channels. Find out more
