Speaking to German Newspaper, Spiegel, Chris Lewis (Xbox’s European Manager) has revealed that more details of the Xbox 360's highly anticipated HD DVD drive will be revealed soon. When quizzed about HD DVD, Lewis stated his support for the recently launched format and announced that E3 would be the setting for Microsoft to reveal more info about the drive and confirmed that it would somehow be able to work with the 360’s lack of required HDMI connector.
The confirmation of this drive is going to be a real blow to Sony and the rest of the Blu-ray camp as the PlayStation 3’s unique Blu-ray format support still looks like one of the best reasons to go with that HD format rather than HD DVD. If Microsoft gives its console equal HD powers, predicting a winner in the format wars suddenly becomes a lot harder.
