BBC launches HD service - with no HD, but EastEnders
If you have one of those free to air HD satellite systems like this one, you can tune into the BBC’s first night of HD tonight. If you are going out I wouldn’t however cancel the babysitter just yet though, as the schedule (check it here) isn’t exactly compelling viewing.
Sure there is EastEnders (err the Mitchell Bros in HD could be very gruesome) and DIY SOS as well as two other programmes, but none of the quartet are actually in HD. I suspect they are being upscaled to HD, which, as we have seen from Telewest’s upscaling, is HD very lite.
Anyhow the rest of the week is also fairly dismal viewing and I didn’t see anything that was originated in HD. Here’s hoping it gets better and quick. Anyone actually watched anything on BBC HD yet?

I think you'll find that the Humax doesn't work with the BBC HD broadcast it needs some kind of update its a hot topic on may forums as many people have bought it for the world cup and are unhappy as it doesn't yet work. Apparently the Pace DS810XE does though
