The Midlands Express and Star has published an article warning consumers to be sure of their facts before buying into HD technology, lured only by the World Cup and a select handful of other programmes.
Broadcasters like Sky and the BBC are banking on the World Cup buzz to drive HD sales, though analysts are warning of a severe shortfall in hardware supplies.
According to Digital Spy, only about 100,000 HD-capable receivers will be installed across the whole of Europe by June.
