Sanyo have expanded their Xacti range of portable movie cameras with the VPC-HD1, an "ultra stylish and compact High Definition (HD) portable movie camera that enables digital movies to be captured in glorious High Definition detail."
Its features include:

- Can record at 1280 x 720 resolution at 30fps (entry-level HD) in the popular 16:9 format.
- Can record at 60fps at 640x480 resolution using the latest MPEG-4 technology.
- 30fps recordings can be converted to 60fps ones using Sanyo's image-enhancement technology.
- High quality stereo sound recording.
- Can take 5 million pixel still images - even capturing stills whilst shooting video.
- 10x Optical Zoom lens.
- Large 2.2 inch OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode Display) LCD display panel.
- Compact (80 x 119 x 36mm) and lightweight (210g – main body)
