Another major sporting event is to be given the HD treatment - this time it's the Ryder Cup, courtesy of Sky HD. The 36th Ryder Cup will be played at the K Club in County Kildare, Ireland, from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th September, broadcast exclusively live on Sky Sports 1 and more significantly, Sky Sports HD.
Announcing the move, David Tippett, Executive producer of golf of Sky said; "HD will not only bring viewers closer to what is happening on the course: the players’ emotions, the atmosphere of the galleries, the contours of the greens, but also it will bring out the unique landscape of the K Club, and bring it to life."
That's all well and good - but I'm more than a little worried about the imapct of those golfing trousers on the HD viewer.

Will be interesting to see how well HD flat panels cope with the fast-moving camera pans following that teeny ball.
No comment re the clothing.
What Andy said. This could actually be a very good test for HD.
