Have you always wanted to hose down the image of a bikini-clad sunworshipper on your HDTV but were frightened of electrocution? (Not to mention a stiff fine for using a hosepipe in drought conditions)
Then fear not, for SunBriteTV may have the TV for you.
I know the standard version has been around for quite a while, but the 32 inch HD version came out in the spring, and this British summer weather (sun then rain) brought it to my attention.
The All-Weather Outdoor 32 inch HD-Ready LCD TV boasts 1366x768 resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio, 800 nits brightness, and a 1200:1 contrast ratio.
It's corrosion-resistant, powder-coated aluminium enclosure protects the TV from rain, dirt and insects; the speakers and controls are sealed against rain and moisture; and the screen is anti-reflective, impact- and scratch-resistant.
The TV also has a built in cooler and heater to cope with extremes in temperature. All inputs are also watertight.
On the negative side, it does only appear to have analogue HD inputs accepting a signal up to 1080i - no HDMI or DVI here.
What it doesn't appear to have is its own HDTV tuner (no free to air HD built-in here) so you'll need to find some waterproof way of getting your Sky HD box out. On the other hand, it does accept a cable input.
Maybe a future model could have built-in wi-fi connectivity to expand the connected home philosophy.
I've seen them retailing at around £1400.
