Vativ release three-input, dual-output HDMI receiver chip

Vtv2320detailVativ Technologies have added a three-input HDMI receiver chip to their line of high-performance HDMI products.

They claim their VTV2310 as the world's first tri-input chip.

It supports reception of two simultaneous digital data streams from its three inputs, allowing for features such as PIP (Picture in Picture) and split-screen functionality.

It's based on HDMI 1.2a, supports all HD modes up to 1080p, and is fully HDCP-compliant.

The chip also incorporates advanced digital signal processing techniques to achieve robust, jitter-tolerant signal recovery. This technology allows receiving devices, such as flat panel displays and multi-media centers to interface up to 40m over standard HDMI cabling, meaning displays can be physically separated from set top boxes and AV receivers.

Vativ's device provides a very flexible digital TV design by allowing the three independent HDMI inputs to be located anywhere in the TV set, including the front panel of the TV cabinet, and so should allow for greater versatility in products that use the new chip.
