I'm always a little wary when manufacturers talk about their products being 'future proof'. That's the bold claim Viewsonic have made about the latest additions to their range of LCD TVs.
The 27-inch N2751w and 32-inch N3251w offer one HDMI input (DVI compatible), 8ms response time (not the fastest, but not awful), 1366x768 resolution, and 720p / 1080i HD input signals.
That last spec already tells me that this TV is not 'future-proof'. No 1080p.
In fact, their press release talks as much about backward-compatibilty as it does about future-proofing. There's the usual smattering of analogue inputs too: composite (RCA), component YPbPr/YCbCr, S-video.
As per usual, buyer beware. Don't assume that because the manufacturer tells you it's 'future proof' that it actually is. As fairly low cost offerings, these TVs look good, but ensure they do everything you need them to.
No word on UK availability or pricing. US RRP is $799 for the N2751w and $999 for the N3251w.
