Wimbledon in HD on the BBC next week
As much as I love the BBC's HD trailer, I must admit I am staring to get a little bored with constant clips of animals eating each other and ageing rock stars humouring Jools Holland. So the great news for me and other HD fans is that as from Monday during the day that trailer makes way for live coverage from the Wimbledon tennis tournament.
This wil be very interesting for us HD-obsesives as it is the first time that we'll be able to watch live HD coverage that the BBC shoots itself - the World Cup feed is the preserve of HBS.
Tennis also brings with it a whole host of problems for HD camera operators in that the ball moves at very fast speeds. Given that LCD TV sets tend to struggle with fast moving objects it could be really interesting to see quite how successful tennis in HD is. It all kicks off on Monday at 12.55.
You can watch BBC HD via Sky, NTL/Telewest and Freeview (that is if you are one of the very lucky people on the trial). BBC HD programme listings are here.

But which sport gets priority when there's a clash - tennis or football?
