A lot of companies are now releasing DVD players that will upscale your existing discs to "near-HD quality", and Denon is no exception. Whilst it's well renowned for quality but expensive pieces of kits, this latest offering is much more within the reach of most people's budgets, at around £150.
It will upscale your DVDs to 720p or 1080i (by way of its 10 bit 108 MHz video DACs) and output via HDMI. It also outputs progressive scan via component and an RGB Scart output.
It's compatible with most audio and MP3 CDs, and DivX, and should be available this month.
