IFA 2006: New Sharp Aquos 46 and 52 inch LCDs
As I mentioned yesterday, Sharp have unveiled a whole host of new LCDs. Their higher end Aquos range have had an update, and are going global from October.
The 52-inch LC-52D62U and 46-inch LC-46D62U 1080p Aquos LCDs are being rolled out worldwide (quite a feat) in October so we won't have to wait longer here to get hold of them.
Features: 1080p, ASV panel providing 2000:1 static contrast ratio (10,000:1 dynamic), 450 cd/m2 brightness, 4ms response time, 2xHDMI inputs, 2xcomponent, built-in analogue/digital tuner, and Sharp's 4-wavelength backlighting system, 176 degree viewing angle.
Prices to be confirmed. Sharp are really pushing to get back their top spot in the big-TV war with Sony, and are hoping that their new eighth-generation plant in Kameyema, Japan will help them to meeet demand.
