Samsung Electronics yesterday showed off a vision of 4G mobile technology by demonstrating reception of a high-def movie whilst travelling in a minibus.
The problem with high-speed transfer of data whilst the receiver is moving is how to switch between base stations - this is something that 4G technology is supposed to do seamlessly.
The current prototype will allow data transfer speeds of up to 100Mbps, which is around 30 times faster than the broadband we're currently used to.
The word 'mobile' is a little misleading in this case as the technology is currently the size of a small 'fridge - but as we know most things tend to miniaturise over time.
When and if it becomes a viable consumer system, it would allow for HD content to be streamed anywhere - though of course you'd need a swishy laptop or screen to appreciate it.
