Canon and Toshiba show off 55 inch SED TV
Gizmodo have pictured Canon and Toshiba showing off a 55 inch SED (Surface-conduction Electron-emitter Display) with an incredible contrast ratio of 100,000:1 and is supposed to have the best features of CRT (contrast ratio, response rate) and LCD (form factor, power efficiency).
The picture is supposed to show the difference - presumably the picture on the left (the poor contrast ratio) is a mockup of some existing system, though we don't know what.
