If reports / rumours online are to be believed, Apple could be on track to put Blu-ray drives in at least some of its line of Mac computers as early as February next year, though that will be dependant on Sony and its use of Blu-ray in the PS3.
Still, as Apple tend to release their computer hardware worldwide at the same time, it could end up being another way of getting hold of Blu-ray in a computer in the UK. It will be interesting to see if and when Apple decide to launch a next-generation optical drive in one of its machines. It may well wait until the next OS X - Leopard - is released as that could offer better support for such a drive.
