JVC have unveiled their DLA-HD1 LCoS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) 1080p projector. It features a new optical engine that prevents light leakage into the projection lens, and so boasts a 15,000:1 native contrast ratio, and 700 lumens brightness off a 200W ultra high pressure lamp.
It has a 2x manual zoom/focus Fujinon lens and 4ms response rate. Comes with 2 HDMI inputs, plus component, S-Video, and composite. It has the equivalent price of around £3500, but won't start shipping in Japan until late January 2007.
