Lite-on promises HP-branded HD100 HD DVD PC drive
Lite-on have announced that they're working on an HP-branded HD100 external HD DVD reader for PCs.
It will offer full 1080p support but would connect via USB, which will be interesting when HDCP really kicks in. Good news if your PC doesn't have an HDMI port on its graphics card, but might cause problems later on.
It will also act as a reader of all previous optical formats (excepting DVD-RAM).
Prices and availability are vague at present.
