Panasonic's new 1080p LCD projector debut
Panasonic have shown off their new PT-AE1000U 1080p full HD LCD projector at the Pre-Consumer Electronics Show press preview in New York.
It's Panasonic's first 1080p projector, aimed at home theatre use.
It features an 11,000:1 contrast ratio, the highest in its class, and a brightness of 1100 lumens. The new optical system includes Panasonic's unique aspherical glass lens system, a technology that reduces the amount of light dispersion to help produce crisper, more vivid images. In addition, it has incorporated next-generation, full high definition LCD panels which are characterised by inorganic, vertically aligned liquid crystals for enhanced black level performance.
It also features a new and unique Pure Colour Filter which uses optical adjustment to achieve a higher purity level of the three primary colours, to display deeper, purer blacks, and significantly expand the colour gamut.
There's a 2x motorised zoom lens and lens shift which means it can cast a 100 inch diagonal image from just 1.24 metres away.
It will be available in the US later in November for a RRP of $5,999. No details of a UK debut yet.
