The South African Broadcasting Company is already preparing for a high definition hosting of the World Cup 2010. It now has a high definition outside broadcast unit featuring the latest in broadcast technology - the first of its kind on the continent.
The public broadcaster has promised in the 2010 bid book that its broadcasts of soccer matches would be of the highest quality, and with the acquisition of the first R50 million high definition outside broadcast unit, the SABC will hopefully be able to live up to that.
This new technology offers a wider screen, high quality pictures and surround sound audio.
