JVC have released three new high definition professional camcorders, the GY-HD200 / GY-HD201, and GY-HD251.
They all feature a 720p/50fps recording engine, yet their data rate is the same as that of JVC's 720p/25 (ProHD 100 series) camcorders - at 19.7Mbps - because JVC have developed a very fast new super-encoder and innovative wideband front-end processor. In other words, it's more efficient!
The camcorders also feature JVC's newly developed 14-bit analogue-digital converter.
HDV from recorded tape is output digitally via FireWire and can be switched between 720p and 1080i. Furthermore, live uncompressed 720p/50 or live uncompressed 1080i/50 can also be output via analogue component or, in the case of GY-HD251, via the HD SDI port, complete with embedded audio and time code.
The complete standard package for GY-HD200 is £4,660, for GY-HD201 £5,070, and for GY-HD251 £6,520.
