Tadaaki Hagata, Chief Executive of Visual Instruments Operations Division at Epson, has stated that the company is seeking to get 20% of the global market share of the video projector market by the end of 2007.
"Global demand for front projectors will grow to more than five million units in 2007, compared to 4.5 million in 2006. With the new features in the upcoming products such as a contrast ratio of 50,000:1, the company is confident about more dominance this year."
Epson think that 720p projectors will drop slightly in price over the coming year, whilst full 1080p projectors will remain at roughly the same price.
Epson had around 18% of the market in 2006.
