Toshiba have announced a new technology called PixelPure3G that aids in cleaning up high definition pictures, reducing colour banding and compression artefacts, amongst other things.
It uses a 14-bit interface which allows for increased (4096) levels of gradation, which Toshiba claim helps with displaying similar colour tones more accurately.
PixelPure3G is also supposed to clean up 'noisy pixels' that appear as a result of compression.
The technology will be seen on Tosh's new range of LCD TVs, due in April.
