Toshiba have announced that their first laptop with a 'write once' HD DVD burner has been released in Japan, and will roll out to other markets in the near future.
We've already seen Toshiba's Qosmio Q35 featuring an HD DVD player. Now, the Q30 includes a drive that can write to HD DVD-R media, as well as standard DVDs.
All other specifications seem fairly similar to the Q35, or slightly updated to keep pace with increasing processor speeds, etc: Intel 2GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 17in widescreen display with 1,920x1,280 resolution, 320GB hard drive, digital TV tuner, and HDMI output.
It's on sale in Japan for the equivalent of £1,600.
