In this brooding episode of 24, the oft-mentioned Dmitri Gredenko is shown for the first time (played by Rade Serbedzija from the movies Mission Impossible II and The Saint, among many more) and his connection to the conspiracy is revealed at last.
It becomes clear how involved the “Russian operative” Gredenko has been in the attacks on America, and what part the Islamic terrorists have played so far. In true 24 style - nothing has been as it seems, and this episode sees some major shifts in the over-arcing plot. If anyone’s been a little uneasy at the portrayal of Muslim terrorists in this season so far, stay tuned, because all becomes clear during this hour.
Meanwhile, Jack is back in CTU and it’s time of recovery for Morris O’Brien, who is agonising over how he was coerced into helping Fayed, whom they are no closer to finding.
We already know how devious Phillip Bauer can be, and this episode only confirms how far he’s willing to go. Having got himself into a trusted position with Jack, CTU and his daughter-in-law Marilyn, he is able to manipulate events in his favour to try and conceal his company’s links to Gredenko.
It’s another unmissable hour that leads up to action in the field for Milo (pictured) and a classic 24 payoff in the following episode.
