ITV's Executive Chairman, Michael Grade, has called for the UK Government to intervene and reserve spectrum to launch high definition TV on Freeview.
"We have a long and most honourable tradition in the UK of ensuring that everyone has access to the same quality of broadcasting," said Grade to the Voice of the Listener and Viewer conference.
Another voice, and a generally respected one at that, adds to the call for HD to be freely available over the air.

I am sure Michael Grade has the opinions of the people, but the Government would think otherwise. They believe if someone is giving them a gift to of some sorts would be more advantageous. HD is a valuable format not for the people the country I would not except anything less from them.
