A recent trial performed by Japan Radio Company and Runcom Technologies has shown a high definition video being streamed at 30Mbit/s over a 'tweaked' 802.16e (WiMAX) setup.
It sounds as if Japan is well ahead of other countries in the rollout of WiMAX, and JRC general manager Fumio Murakami said that Japan was expecting superior performance from the WiMAX networks to compete with existing broadband wireless networks.
The full details of the trial are available in the press release.
