Along with their new high definition plasma TVs, LG has unveiled two 1080p LCD HDTV ranges.
The LY95 range is available in 37, 42, 47, and 52 inch sizes (52 incher coming in September).
All sets feature a wide colour gamut, providing 120% more colour than a standard PAL TV signal, TruV Viewing Angle that should provide a smooth, even picture at up to 178 degrees viewing angle, the XD Engine Full HD featuring 1:1 pixel matching, LG Eye Intelligent System which automatically adjusts the picture to suit the room's light conditions, and encased dimple speakers.
The LF66 series TVs feature much the same as the LY95, but without the Wide Colour Gamut feature or the encased speakers.
LG has also released two "HD Ready" LCD TV ranges. The LC55 is available in 26, 32 (LC56), 37, and 42 inch sizes, with a contrast ratio of up to 5000:1, XD Image Processing, and 2 HDMI connectors.
The LC46 series is available in 26, 32, 37, and 42 inch sizes, with the press release stating it has identical specifications to the LC55. So why release it then? I'm obviously missing something here.
All the sets are finished in gloss black finish, with the 1080p sets having blade thin design.
More detailed specs, pricing, and availability to follow. More upfront info next time please LG - we need to know!
