Mitsubishi has unveiled nine new high-end 1080p DLP rear projection high definition TVs, sporting their new Thin Frame design, and 6-Colour Light Engine that allows the HDTVs to produce images using six separate colours.
The models include the 733 Series available in 57, 65, and 73 inch, and offering the 6-Colour Light Engine, x.v.Color, PerfectColor, Easy Connect, three rear HDMI 1.3 inputs, and a front HD component input.
The 734 Series adds Dark Detailer technology to the 733 Series, offering deep blacks and rich dark scene detail, plus PerfecTint, DeepField Imager for dynamic contrast adjustment within an image, and SharpEdge. Available in the same sizes as the 733 Series.
Finally, the Diamond models - available in 57, 65 and 73 inch sizes - features Smooth120Hz mode to reduce motion blur, plus Game FX 3D game capability, FireWire, and RS232C input.
Mitsubishi are proud of their proprietary 6-Colour Light Engine technology, which generates yellow, cyan and magenta directly rather than by combining red, green and blue. It's a technology you'd expect to find on high-end DLP projectors, but not usually in TVs. It's supposed to yield a wider range of colours, brighter individual colours, and purer whites.
All models also come with Colour 4D Noise Reduction that analyses colour and filters out video noise.
Thanks to the generous three HDMI 1.3 ports, Deep Colour is also available.
Pricing and availability in the UK and Europe is to be confirmed.
