Toshiba develops in-car HD DVD player
Quite why you'd want a HD DVD player in such a confined space isn't clear, but Toshiba must think there's a market for high-def in-car entertainment, as they're due to launch such a player in 2008.
It is just a player, so you'll need a display as well. Apparently it was demonstrated with a touchscreen LCD panel at the recent Automotive Engineering Exposition 2007 in Japan, but that's not a standard piece of kit.
Presumably, if you build up a decent collection of HD DVDs and want to watch them on the move, this is the ideal piece of kit.
