Sony's latest desktop computer, the RM1N, embraces all to do with high-definition including an innovative design, next-generation technology and state-of-the-art software, making it the 'ultimate HD workstation'.
“The RM1N will exert a unique appeal for those needing serious HD editing capability,” says Jun Koyama, Marketing Director for Sony VAIO of Europe (VOE). “It has quad-core processing power, professional software pre-installed, a specialised Jog controller for speeding up editing, and it has Blu-ray Disc™. You’re looking at real-world figures of at least 20 hours HD editing time thanks to the terabyte hard disk, plus the facility to record 50GB of high-definition video on a single Blu-ray Disc™."
In a radical departure from typical designs, the RM1N comes in two pieces. The main unit houses the motherboard and main components while the separate access unit carries the hard drive, optical drives, and multi-card reader. Sony say this gives users more flexibility with the set up and both units can be stood vertically or horizontally.
Pre-installed Adobe Premiere 2.0 software and a specialised Jog controller offer sophisticated HD editing at your fingertips supported by the latest Intel Core 2 Quad processor and high-end graphics card. You can watch HD films, included copy protected HDCP titles, and burn high-definition content onto Blu-ray discs.
The RM1N is only available in the UK, although the price is yet to be confirmed.
