Using a quality cable is one of the simplest and least expensive ways of improving the high-definition performance of your home cinema system. Supra has released a high-grade 1080p HDMI (v.1.3a) cable – the latest incarnation of the digital audio and video connection used as standard in most high-definition sources.
While lower quality cables are prone to jitter, crosstalk and internal reflections that affect the colour and sharpness of the image, the new Supra HF100 cable is guaranteed to work and claims to deliver quality performance at all lengths. This should mean high-definition images with total stability, low noise backgrounds, intricate detail and accurate, vivid colours.
The HDMI v.1.3a specification offers advanced video features such as increased bandwidth to 340MHz, increased refresh rates to 120Hz, support for up to 16-bit colour and the new xvYCC colour spacing. Audio enhancements include support for Dolby and DTS HD codecs, lip synch and more - essential if you want to realise the full potential of high-definition disc formats like Blu-ray and HD-DVD.
The HF100 cable is available now and priced at £60 for the first metre and then £7.50 for every other metre - making it good value for long cable runs
