Bang & Olufsen is like the Porsche of the AV world – striking design, high quality engineering and an expensive cost. Compared to typical designs, B&O's screens are like works of art but, if you're prepared to pay the price, you can expect high quality performance too.
The Danish company has recently released the BeoVision 7 40in LCD HDTV in the US in an effort to capture the premium market. As you can see the brushed aluminium/lacquered black design looks stunning but it's more than just a pretty panel.
The 1080p compatible HDTV also includes an integrated DVD/CD player with a digital sound module and 7.1 surround sound channels, which can be used with the equally attractive BeoLab speaker system.
The screen is mounted on a motorised stand that can be swiveled by remote control to extend viewing areas – you can even set it to turn to a viewing position when switched on and then return to resting position when switched off.
But, with a price tag of $13,250 it's not going to fall into everyone's budget. We're not sure when the BeoVision 7 will arrive here or how much it will be – but now would be a good time to start saving.
