Good news for Xbox 360 owners is that Microsoft has announced it will extend existing warranties to cover three years – no matter when the console was bought.
This follows a serious investigation by Microsoft after reports that the early high-def games consolses suffered a 30% failure rate. As a result, Microsoft has improved the console and is extending its warranty for new and existing customers.
So, anyone experiencing those dreaded flashing 'circle of death' lights will be able to have their console repaired. And, if you've already paid for the priviledge of having your console repaired then Microsoft will refund you the money – an offer that will apparently cost them £500m.
"We value our community tremendously and look at this as an investment in our customer base. We look forward to great things to come," said Robbie Bach, president of Microsoft's Entertainment & Devices Division.
