Toshiba to permanently cut entry-level HD DVD player prices

Toshiba has announced that it is to permanently cut the price of its entry-level HD DVD players in the United States, making the HD-A2 player $299, and the HD-A20 $399.

The price is effective from July 1st, and continues the trend of both HD DVD and Blu-ray player manufacturers slicing their prices to compete with one another.

Whether we'll get similar concessions in the UK isn't clear.
