Microsoft has confirmed that the new Xbox 360 Elite games console will arrive in our shores on August 24th – a price hasn't yet been confirmed but expect it to be around £300.
However, Microsoft was quick to quash rumours of an expected price cut to the existing Xbox 360 in this country.
Peter Moore, of Microsoft’s interactive entertainment business, entertainment and devices division, said, “We're comfortable with our price points with Xbox 360 and the three choices consumers have. The consumer needs great games regardless of price and that’s what we're delivering with Xbox 360.”
Instead,, the company used its announcement at E3 to discuss software and to confirm that a European video on demand service similar to the one struck with Walt Disney Studios in the US would be available in the UK before Christmas.
Microsoft has sold 11.6 million Xbox 360 units across the world and its Xbox Live marketplace now has 7 million users.
