IFA 2007: Samsung debuts two third-generation Blu-ray players: BD-P1400, BD-P2400

samsung_BD-P1400_blu-ray_player.jpgSamsung has released details of two third-generation Blu-ray players, the BD-P1400 and BD-P2400.

The BD-P2400 has the most advanced features, reading much like the BD-UP5000 but without the HD DVD functionality. They include full Blu-ray playback at 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 1080p at 24fps, plus HQV selectable up-conversion processing, stereo and 7.1-channel audio output, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and dts HD, HDMI 1.3 output, and Ethernet port, for updates and web interactivity.

The BD-P1400 (pictured) has similar features, less HQV up-conversion, with 5.1-channel audio output.

The BD-P1400 will be available from September, with the BD-P2400 coming a month later, prices to be confirmed.
