LG Time Machine HDTVs first to be awarded Group 2 Freeview Playback certification

Lg-LOGO-web-l.jpgLG has become the first manufacturer to gain Group 2 Freeview Playback certification for its imminent Time Machine range of LCDs and plasmas.

Freeview Playback is an accreditation from the Digital Television Group (DTG) that’s awarded to products that conform to a strict set of functional criteria.

Intelligent features under the Group 2 certification include ‘schedule tracking’ and ‘auto buffering’ to ensure that changes in schedule do no cause recordings to be missed. There’s also a ’series recording’ function that allows you to set recordings for an entire series at the push of a button.

A new category of Freeview Playback has been developed following the introduction of digital TV recorders to iDTVs. LG’s Time Machine HDTV range allows consumers to pause, rewind and record live TV from over 40 channels using an integrated EPG. You can also record one channel while watching another and the 160GB integrated hard drive has enough space for up to 80 hours of footage.

The new LT75 LCD range is available in 32in, 37in and 42in screen sizes while the PT85 plasma range features 42in and 50in models. Both ranges will be available in October, although prices haven’t been confirmed.
