Although prices of the Xbox 360 have been cut in the US, Microsoft has confirmed that we won’t be seeing any permanent reductions in the UK - although a new model could be on its way.
“We have no plans to make any changes at this time,” said a Microsoft spokesperson. However, there is a chance that the festive season will see a ‘revised’ pricing structure for a short time only.
Meanwhile, there are rumours of a redesigned Xbox from the Singapore chip manufacturer, Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing, which produces processors for the Xbox 360.
The company currently produces 90nm and 65nm processors but claims it is now working on a 45nm CPU, codenamed Falcon, with mass production expected to begin in 2009.
