Report claims IPTV market set to soar
According to a report from market intelligence firm, iSuppli, the market for IPTV video services will reach $26.3 billion by 2011 – not including advertising and value added TV services.
The report, ‘IPTV Content and Services 2007: Telecom Companies Turn up the Heat’, also found that many IPTV deployment strategies are focused on next generation video services and competition is likely to concentrate on features and benefits, rather than price.
Features such as high-definition programming, digital video recording and remote access are expected to be the main features.
