BSkyB’s Sky One has announced details of its autumn programming schedule, which it claims is ‘unashamedly about entertainment’. There is a host of new shows from the UK and US including a new game show hosted by Noel Edmonds.
“We have never invested so much at any time in the channel's history and all of our new shows will be broadcast in glorious high definition, “ said Richard Woolfe, directors of programmes fro Sky One.
The new line up is determined to attract viewers away from the anticipated launch of rival Virgin Media’s Virgin 1 channel, which is due to launch on Freeview and Virgin Media.
The new programmes include Nothing But the Truth, a controversial take on the Jerry Springer Show, which asked contestants personal questions using a lie detector. Also from the US, is Journeyman, a key drama series that foolows a man that can travel into his past and change the lives of others.
The autumn will also see the return of Lost, The Simpsons, Project Runway, Project Catwalk, Cirque de Celebrité and Ross Kemp on Gangs. And, earlier this year Sky One bought the rights to channel Five’s Prison Break.
