Sony is keen to ensure that Blu-ray information is readily available online, so not content with their music, movies and games web site running alongside the Museum of Low Resolution, they're now providing automatic Blu-ray information updates to a variety of online calendar applications.
Their iCalendar service supports Apple's iCal system, Google Calendar, Windows Calendar (Vista), Outlook 2007, Lotus Notes 6+, Mozilla Sunbird & Lighting and Entourage, and is supposed to be simple to install. Once set up, the latest Blu-ray Disc releases across the major film studios — including Buena Vista, Disney, EIV, Entertainment UK, Fox, Hollywood Pictures, Lions Gate, MGM, Miramax, Paramount, Sony, Sony BMG, Touchstone and Warner — will be easily available to view.
I'm not a great user of online calendar feeds like this - perhaps Sony will also look at other methods of pushing this information out so that we don't have to trawl through individual sites to get it.
The software can be downloaded at ical.blu-ray.sony-europe.com/.
